During the month of October 2021, advertising investment reached 596.1 million euros, growing 3.3% compared to the equivalent period of the previous year when the registered volume was 577.3 million euros.

The media most affected by this measure are Radio, Exterior and Digital, the latter due to the inclusion of data from Search and Social Networks. As we have been doing since the beginning of this year, the comparative data including 2019 are shown below in order to offer a more realistic scenario in terms of evolutions. In such a way that the data can be compared with those of a period exempt from the effects of the pandemic and the measures adopted, which have significantly affected the advertising sector.
Digital , which occupies the first position by volume of advertising investment during the month of October 2021, has experienced a growth of 7.5% compared to October 2020, obtaining 294.5 million euros. Within Digital, the best performance this month is for Websites , which increased its investment figure by 9.0%, reaching 109.6 million euros.
Social Networks , grew by 8.2% with an investment of 74.7 million euros compared to the 69.0 million it obtained in the same period of 2020. Finally, within the media contemplated in digital, Search increases by 5 , 6% going from 104.4 million euros in the month of October 2020 to 110.2 million in the month analyzed.
The second medium by investment would be Television, which brings together an advertising investment of 180.8 million euros, with a decrease of -4.5% compared to 189.3 million euros in the same period of 2020. Radio , which ranks third place by investment, stands at 40.9 million and an increase of 7.2%, above the fourth average, Foreign , whose figure rises in the tenth month of the year to 33.2 million euros and registers an increase of 26 , 4% on the figure corresponding to the previous year.
The newspaper Diarios, presents a decrease in its investment of -17.4% reaching 30.9 million euros. Magazines , sixth average by volume of investment, increased its figure by 23.1% and 12.0 million euros.Cinema , registers 2.3 million euros during the month of October 2021, notably increasing its investment by 181.7%.
However, it must be remembered that, in October 2020, said media was practically paralyzed due to the health crisis. Finally, Supplements and dominicales , registered 1.5 million euros and decreased its figure by -4.3% compared to the same period of the previous year. As we reported at the beginning of this press release, we will be comparing month by month also with 2019. In this tenth month of 2021, advertising investment in media would have decreased by -2.8% compared to October 2019.
